Hail The Grove!
Here are the Omens in detail from the Autumn Equinox ritual earlier this evening.
The Ancestors and Mighty Dead: Hagalaz. This is the second straight ritual with this omen in this spot. The tide of strife continues for any and all in the Grove. The good news is the seed of new growth is promised, the strength of the Ancestors pushes forward, and they shall be with us through thick and thin. I also sensed this is a sign that the Ancestors are feeling neglected in all the build up of landspirits chatter. Nothing wrong here. Just a tap on the shoulder to remind us who had our back when shit hits the fan, because fan is on and shit is flying.
Hagalaz Rune Poem (OERP):
Hail is the whitest of grains,
It comes from on high in heaven,
Showers of wind hurl it,
Then it turns to water.
The Nature Spirits: Nuathiz. The not so gentle promise we shall get what we need. Just enough fire for warmth. Just enough food on the plate to avoid starvation. This is no abundant flow of blessings. It’s getting what we need from their realm, and not one inch more. Intuition brought along a message, a caveat, that what we’ve carried in words only still awaits our deeds. It’s never enough to just pay lip service to this kindred. Do what they need as well. Pick up litter, reduce wasteful usage of water, walk more, hug a tree. Ya dig?
Nuathiz Rune Poem (OERP):
Need is constricting on the chest,
Although to the children of men it often becomes,
A help and salvation nevertheless,
If they heed it in time.
The Shining Ones: Jera. The Harvest. A complete cycle of work done well, and good fruits shall be bestowed upon the Grove. Enjoy the peace that comes with this knowledge of good deeds. This was a perfect omen for the Grove on our formation anniversary. I’ve no doubt whatsoever that all the various divine forces represented by those gathered around our fire are delighted to be honored, given gifts, and to bestow their blessings in return. This is a good and honorable omen.
Jera Rune Poem (OERP):
Harvest is the hope of men,
When God lets,
Holy King of Heaven,
The Earth give
Her bright fruits
To the Noble ones and the needy.
At the ritual I concluded these are okay – not great – Omens. Why? All of these runes come from the second aett of the Elder Futhark. It’s all getting hands dirty, dealing with hardness, and seeking good returns through skill and luck alike. We are up to the task. Sometimes a blessing is as much a hard shove into a storm so you may grow through challenge. Other times it’s a great big sigh of relief that all the hard work is being rewarded with a great harvest. We get what we need this Equinox. No more. No less.
Seek the mysteries,
Lonnie
